Week #50

Dear Family, Friends and Kinsfolk (I don't know),
This week was a good one. There is a 5 ft long cayman that lives in out trench outside of our apartment and when it rains it comes out and we play with it. (kidding about the playing with it part) This week was good. Our church attendance was better than last week and we just were able to find so many cool people! This whole week was a huge blur as well. I went on two exchanges in Uitkijk and Wanica North. Elder Jennings and I lift a truck out of a sick hole on our exchange and that was for sure a fun experience, the people were very thankful. Uitkijk is the biggest biking area in the mission and it takes about an hour to get to one of the three places there are to work. I was a crazy exchange. Elder Hood and I are just having a blast. It's fun serving with basically your best friend! I was able to finish the Book of Mormon this week and was able to take Moroni's challenge once again and the Book is indeed true!
The Scripture of the Week is 1Nephi 8:27-34
27 And it was filled with people, both old and young, both male and female; and their manner of dress was exceedingly fine; and they werein the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingers towards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit. 28 And after they had tasted of the fruit they were ashamed, because of those that were scoffing at them; and they fell away intoforbidden paths and were lost.
29 And now I, Nephi, do not speak all the words of my father.
30 But, to be short in writing, behold, he saw other multitudes pressing forward; and they came and caught hold of the end of the rod ofiron; and they did press their way forward, continually holding fast to the rod of iron, until they came forth and fell down and partook of thefruit of the tree.

31 And he also saw other multitudes feeling their way towards that great and spacious building.
32 And it came to pass that many were drowned in the depths of the fountain; and many were lost from his view, wandering in strangeroads.
33 And great was the multitude that did enter into that strange building. And after they did enter into that building they did point the fingerof scorn at me and those that were partaking of the fruit also; but we heeded them not.
34 These are the words of my father: For as many as heeded them, had fallen away.
The rod of iron as we know is the word of God. I challenge you all the recommit to reading the scriptures! Espeacially the Book of Mormon. Because I know there are many that are scorning and laughing and pointing there fingers but I plead to not give heed to them. Be proud that you are different and that you have high standards and do not drop them for anything. I know this Gospel is true!
LOBI, Elder Lewis
