Week #96

Hello Everyone,
This week was a wet on, just like every rainy season constantly wet....all the time. But i love it and wouldn't rather be anywhere else. This week was a trying one for us. We are plugging through our area knocking on every single house and doing our best to make sure that NOBODY gets missed. It feels so good riding down a street knowing you have talked to every single person on that street. I love this work! I got to say goodbye to my three most favorite families in Suriname on Tuesday in Koewarasan it was a pleasure to work with all of them. Our area is doing really well. This week we were able to meet what seemed to be a lot of cool people. I'm grateful to be able o look and find them. there are so miracles happening here as members become more and more converted. I've never seen the branch more converted and connected together. They are all going on a branch camp out this weekend. So I am excited for hem all to go and bond together. Our investigator radjes is doing really well. He knows it's true and got his answer. He will be coming to church with his family this upcoming Sunday so we are pumped for that! We love teaching him and it's so fun to teach someone who has been prepared by the lord and it's also cool because he is really the only person progressing out of the 500 people we have contacted in that area. Was it worth all the rejections to get to him? OF course it was. The Lord led us to him and will be getting on a date on Tuesday.  Y spiritual experience this week was a good one. This week talking to Hindu's all week was for sure numbing. I don't know what it is abut it but it really brought me down. Yesterday evening we were able to teach our investigator radjes. He is a Hindu who has been converted to Christianity because we have been able to answer his questions. We taught him about the plan of salvation and it was exactly the breath of fresh air I needed to pick me back up. I love this gospel and it is so perfect. This transfer we have not seen too much success but the Lord is teaching me what it means to be obedient and I have learned this week that the true test of our love for the Lord is willingness to be obedient even when the Lord does not provide you with baptisms. I have felt God's love for me as I have strove to do things because i love Him!

Week #92

Hello everyone,
It's been a long time since I wrote  a group email. This week I have been particularly impressed with the talk from our beloved prophet, Thomas S. Monson on the Book of Mormon. We have encouraged every single person we meet to read the Book of Mormon every single day and I personally have seen it change lives and hearts, including mine. President Monson said  If you are not reading the Book of Mormon each day, please do so. "  in the Doctrine and Covenants 1:38 says "whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servantsit is the same." Thomas Monson is the literally voice of God hear on earth. I know if we read the Book of Mormon everyday we will be in a place to feel and hear the voice of the spirit, overcome doubt and fear and be able to endure to the end. I know that Book is true.

Week #87

I guess I haven't written a group email in a while but here's a quick one.
Our area is doing great. 30 people were at church including brother tapoh and also sister gerde. Both haven't been to church in over a year. WE also had two investigators at church., one of which is a Haitian who can speak the Surinamese language and the members just welcomed him with open arms. We are seeing a lot of progress in the people we are contacting. The lord has truly prepared those people we are meeting. We want to get this branch up to 40 strong by the end of this transfer. IT kind of starting to be an avalanche effect with people coming back and it all started with sister tapoh. Her example has shone so bright and is inspiring and lifting everyone in that branch. Its so cool. There was a child of hers that was baptized this last weekend so yet another soul has been added to the kingdom of God.  We have also had the privilege of finding 3 families. One of 7 the other of 5 and the other 4. So we are really excited for them.
